Welcome to my practice!
I am a psychologist in private practice in Houston, Texas. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, compromised self-esteem, social and interpersonal issues, stress, relationship conflicts, and life transitions. In addition, I work with parents and their children to address complicated dynamics that arise within the family system. Through my work as a Clinical Psychologist, I've come to believe that it takes courage to recognize that aspects of one's life aren't working, and to seek support in making positive changes. During therapy, I work with clients to identify areas of life that they would like to change, improve, or to create greater understanding and acceptance. Together, we explore current and past experiences, thoughts, and behaviors that may contribute to one’s life challenges and struggles. I believe that a strong, trusting client/therapist relationship is pivotal for therapy to be beneficial, and I am committed to working in a nonjudgmental, authentic, and honest manner.
Women and Motherhood Group
Please join Dr. Punches for a group therapy experience designed for women who are navigating the journey of motherhood. This group will provide women with the opportunity to process aspects of their identity and experience as mothers, as well as provide support. The goal of the group is to promote intensive, honest, and authentic interactions to help you learn more about yourself. Dr. Punches will lead the group with general topics of discussion each week, while also allowing room for open-ended, unstructured flow of conversation within the group therapy framework and established boundaries. Topics include: evolving identity as a woman and a mother, dealing with perfectionism (the “good enough” mother), balancing roles (career, family, partnership, self), working through challenging moments and phases with children, examining parenthood as the ultimate “mirror” (triggers and stumbling blocks from one’s own life and childhood), self-compassion, “mom-guilt”, expectations and acceptance, and much more.
The group will meet weekly and begin in Fall 2022. Please contact Dr. Punches to learn more.
